In the last hour and a half, the test riders taking part in the second day of Shakedown at Sepang were finally able to ride on slick tyres. After the rain that fell in the morning and due to the clouds that didn't leave the sky above the circuit, the asphalt wasn't in perfect condition and still damp in certain points, but the riders made the best of a bad thing, managing to lap with some interesting times.

The fastest, like yesterday, was once again Cal Crutchlow who with his Yamaha stopped the clock at a time of 2'02.079, a good half second better than Michele Pirro on the Ducati, who is testing a aerodynamic evolution on the Desmosedici (you can read about it HERE).

The third quickest time, on the other hand, went to Augusto Fernandez, the rookie on the GasGas who is not doing so badly against riders who are far more experienced than him.

That’s the official classification, then there is the 'ghost' Pedrosa. As Francesco Guidotti explained to us, Dani doesn't want the transponder fitted, but at the end of the day, as if by magic, the Spaniard's name appeared on the screens, only to disappear after a few minutes. Probably the transponder had been inadvertently turned on and the best time seen was 2'02.807, at a time when the track was drying rapidly, so it cannot be ruled out that he might have improved even further.

Going back to the official list, fourth quickest was Lorenzo Savadori on the Aprilia who did his best lap in 2'02.948, while behind him is Jonas Folger who is continuing to get to grips with the KTM. Further back Stefan Bradl, who didn’t lap in the dry conditions with the Honda.

The final day of Shakedown will take place tomorrow, from 10 to 18.
