MotoGP: Michelin: the new asphalt facilitates the work of the tires at Assen

Good start to the weekend in Assen.  The track was completely resurfaced a year ago, so the grip is very good and that makes everything easier from a tyre perspective.

Dry in the morning with a track temperature of 28° C.
Dry at the start of the afternoon session but started to rain after about 15 mins. Track temperature dropped from 30 to 25° C.

In general the tyres are working well (front and rear) with good grip and feel.  The tyres look good after use with no excessive wear and normal temperatures.

Front:
Soft: Good grip and feel.  Worked very well in the morning for everyone and in the afternoon for riders who don’t stress their tyres.
Medium: More support but less grip than Soft.
Rain: Very good grip and good feedback, although a little soft on the right side due to braking forces.

Rear:
Soft: Very good grip. More than Medium and no drop-off was reported.
Medium: Good tyre with good stability and levels of grip. Good warm-up and good visual appearance when worn.
Hard: Very good stability, but 2 laps of warm-up needed. Then worked well but with less potential than Med or Soft in today’s conditions.
Rain: Very good initial grip with no apparent loss of potential.

MotoE:

FP1 was done with worn tyres from the previous e-pole. Good warm-up from front and rear, with good support. The grip was close to the level of new tyres, and the feedback was predictable and progressive.

FP2 with new tyres was very good.  Great feeling and grip from the front. The grip from the rear was good, with very little drop-off and progressive handling.
