It takes a day at the beach. To celebrate a victory or a world title. To forget a mistake, or not think about another trip to the hospital, to regain some serenity. A day at the beach, after the Indonesian GP, is needed by everyone: Aldeguer, Rueda, Bezzecchi, Marquez and Bagnaia.
THE GOOD - Even when the bank looks like it is going to win, Ducati always pulls a card out of its deck. Mandalika's wild card has the face of Fermin Aldeguer, who for one Sunday forgot he was a rookie and rode like a champion. The Gresini cure worked once again. Good for him, good for them.
THE BAD - It could have been Marc Marquez, who instead on the way to Lombok discovered ataraxia. Even a bonzo would have been pissed off after being mowed down by Bezzecchi, but the Spaniard preached peace. Which doesn't take anything away from Marco going behind the blackboard as dunce of the day, eating crow, etc. etc. etc.
THE UGLY - From Japanese celebrations to Indonesian long faces, all in a matter of days. Ducati has won everything this year, but it can't muster up a smile this weekend. It can't with Marquez in the infirmary and Bagnaia once again lost. Twists and turns are usually nice, but this is a bit much.
DISAPPOINTMENT - Don't count your podiums before they hatch. It looked as if the time was right, but instead Luca Marini will have to wait again. Too bad because he deserves it, it will come.
CONFIRMATION - He doesn't amaze with special effects, but he makes even what is difficult look easy and, of course, he wins. A lot. José Antonio Rueda now has the crown of world champion on his head, but it seems that this is only the beginning. The guy has wrist and brains, two qualities that go a long way.
ERROR - Motorcycle racing is an individual sport, until it is the team that makes mistakes. The mess with Manu Gonzalez's ECU software could cost him dearly, even a World Championship. Not cheap.
OVERTAKING - We haven't forgotten Pedro Acosta; it would be hard to do so. The bad boy has put his head down, but he hasn't lost his talent. If you want some entertainment, keep your eyes on him.
SURPRISE - Two Italians on the podium in Moto3 hasn't been seen in a couple of years. Now that the tricolors have been taken out of the closet, it would be good not to let them gather any more dust. Luca Lunetta and Guido Pini, we are counting on you.
CURIOSITY - On the island of Lombok Marc Marquez has never seen the finish line of a race on Sunday. For a vacation, it might be better to choose the mountains.
I TOLD YOU SO - Dall'Igna convinced after the Japanese GP: "we managed to put everything back in the right place." Not quite everything, Gigi.
