MotoGP: Jorge Martin discharged from hospital, staying in Qatar a few days

The update came directly from Aprilia. A week after being admitted to Hamad General Hospital in Doha, Jorge Martin has finally been discharged. However, what we've learned from the official release is that the reigning MotoGP world champion won't be able to return directly to Spain. He's obligaated to stay a few more days in Qatar until his medical condition is fully stabilized, especially with regard to his collapsed lung, since the air accumulated in the pleural space prevents him from traveling by plane.

Once he's fully out of danger, Aprilia will provide their rider with an assisted flight to Europe: during the trip, his parameters will be monitored at all times and he'll be accompanied by specialized medical personnel.

Martinator had just returned from another very difficult period. Last February, on his first time riding the RS-GP25 at the Sepang circuit, he was the victim of an accident that prevented him from continuing the winter tests. Once he recovered, he then fell during a training session, which caused a complex fracture of the radius, several fractured carpal bones, and an ipsilateral calcaneal fracture.

After missing three races, Lusail was supposed to be his rebirth, but another fall during the race, and the unintentional and unavoidable accident that occurred at Turn 12 with Di Giannantonio's Ducati, caused him to break eight posterior and three lateral ribs, along with the aforementioned lung poblems. So the 27-year-old rider's recovery is expected to be long, probably no less than a month and a half, but today was already a step forward.
