MotoGP, Brivio: "Raul Fernandez will try to ride in the Buriram tests."

The team manager revealed that the Spanish rider will arrive in Thailand to try to participate in the upcoming tests, riding the Aprilia RS.GP, despite having had surgery on his fractured left hand

MotoGP: Brivio:

During the joint presentation of all the MotoGP teams for the 2025 season held in Bangkok, Trackhouse Racing's Team Principle Davide Brivio confirmed that Raul Fernandez will try to take part in the upcoming test in Buriram.

"I can give you some news. Raul Fernandez will arrive in Thailand tomorrow and will try to test," the manager said. As you may recall, the Spanish rider completed just three laps at Sepang before he was the victim of a high-speed fall  that required surgery after fracturing the metacarpal in his left hand, while the small fracture in a toe on his left foot didn't require surgery. "It will definitely be difficult for him, but it would be important for us if he could at least get a few laps in before the start of the season."

Obviously, Raul Fernandez will have to get the green light from his doctors but, since he's the only one of the current Aprilia satellite riders who's ridden the RS-GP 24, his opinions are crucial.

Should Raul not make it - after all, it is a fracture - test rider Lorenzo Savadori will still be on track, while Jorge Martin, who was discharged yesterday, will be forced to skip the tests in Buriram.

Aprilia's championship, therefore, gets off to an immediate uphill start, but the team's morale is high despite the controversy (still ongoing) with sole tire supplier, Michelin, which caused a heated dispute between Piero Taramasso - who revealed a tire temperature problem - and Massimo Rivola.
