His race lasted a handful of corners. Phillip Island left a very bitter taste in Danilo Petrucci's mouth. He fell during the first lap because of a violent high-side. You could tell he was disappointed for having ended his Sunday early.

"I feel really bad," Danilo began. "Up until the race, I was having a weekend that was up to my expectations. My sensations were good despite the various obstacles, like the wind and rain. I thought I could battle it out with the best in the race, but it didn't happen that way."

About the fall.

"Marc made me go wide on a dirty trajectory, while Quartararo lost the rear, and the same thing happened to me. I was thrown into the air, and the brakes didn't help me. I used the hard tire. Like I said, Fabio also lost the bike like I did, but not as violently."

He really feels bad about this.

"I'm sorry I made him fall. We could have had a great weekend, but it didn't happen that way. I hope I don't have to go home with broken bones, since my ankle hurts. It's difficult to be positive, difficult to see positive things, but I can still say that my weekend is what I had expected."

So Petrucci has to bite the bullet.

"My pelvis hurts on my left side, and I hope my ankle ligaments are not damaged. If it gets swollen, they'll assess the situation with other tests. But I still have pain even after the race."
