Marc Márquez is speeding up his recovery: a return to Mugello is possible

Marc Márquez is back in the news following the Catalan GP, though off the track this time. The Ducati rider posted a photo on social media where he's smiling as he undergoes physical therapy for his right shoulder, which was operated on just a week ago to remove a screw that was causing problems to his radial nerve.

But the Spanish rider, who wasn't 'present in Barcelona, seems to be sending a clear message: his recovery is going well, and a return in two weeks at Mugello is no longer out of the question.

Márquez had also undergone surgery for the fifth digit of his right foot, but the real issue was his shoulder. Marc had explained that he didn’t want to rush things, recalling the mistakes he made after his injury in 2020.

Next week, the rider will undergo a medical check-up in Madrid to assess his shoulder. If he receives the green light from the doctors, he'll begin intensive training and attempt to ride again before Mugello on May 31st.

If further precautions are needed, his return could be postponed until he'll be able to ride in the GP on the Hungarian circuit on June 7th, which is considered physically less demanding than the Tuscan track.
