Marquez and his brothers: the ten faces of motorcycling 2025

Not a ranking, rather some thoughts on the riders who have made a difference in this year that is coming to an end. And because motorcycle racing is not just about the track, there is also MXGP

MotoGP: Marquez and his brothers: the ten faces of motorcycling 2025

2025 was a year of great technical and sporting complexity for world motorcycle racing. Not only MotoGP, but also Moto2, Moto3 and off-road produced riders capable of making a difference not only with numbers, but with the significance of their performances. This selection of the ten best riders of 2025 comes not from a simple ranking by points, but from an overall assessment that takes into account context, technical difficulty, continuity and real impact within their category.

At the top of them all is Marc Márquez, the outright protagonist of MotoGP 2025. His world title was not just a sporting victory, but a demonstration of total completeness. Márquez was able to adapt to an extremely high-performance but complex Ducati, changing his approach from the past and winning even when he was not the fastest on the track. His season has been a mix of management, selective aggression and tactical intelligence, bringing him back to the center of world motorcycle racing as a technical and mental benchmark.

We are not giving grades however, because that would be reductive and it is a list not a ranking from 1 to 10. You are therefore free to place the 10 protagonists according to your personal preferences.

He won with authority, but above all he showed his ability to handle the pressure, tyres and strategies, qualities that make him one of the most ready prospects for the jump to MotoGP. He also had some luck with the setback of Manuel Gonzalez, who was disqualified after his second-place finish in Mandalika because of the technical irregularity of his ECU.

José Antonio Rueda - Moto3
A Moto3 2025 leader, Rueda distinguished himself in a notoriously chaotic category through his coolness and intelligence. He was not only fast, but extremely lucid in the race finishes, choosing precisely when to attack and when to control. His season was convincing not only for the results, but for the method by which he achieved them.
