Marquez: "Not among Rossi's biggest rivals? Never fought for a title."

Valentino chose Lorenzo as his most important rival and Marc didn't mind: "When I came to the MotoGP, I also battled against Jorge, then I switched to Dovizioso."

MotoGP: Marquez: "Not among Rossi's biggest rivals? Never fought for a title."

When it comes to Valentino Rossi and Marc Marquez, the turmoil never fails. That's what happened in Indonesia, quite speciously. The Doctor was in Jakarta presenting the special livery with which Fabio Di Giannantonio and Franco Morbidelli will race at Mandalika. On that occasion, Valentino was asked who had been his biggest rival throughout his career.

"I had many great rivals, and I think the choice is between Stoner, Lorenzo, Biaggi, and Pedrosa. It's hard to say who's been the greatest. Maybe Lorenzo, because we were teammates for a long time. It was like a love affair," Rossi said, jokingly.

Then he spoke about Mandalika where, of course, Marc Marquez was asked why Valentino hadn't mentioned him in that list. "Because we never fought against each other for a championship. When I came to the MotoGP, my biggest rival was Lorenzo, then I switched to Dovizioso," he responded.
