Fabulous Ferrari: historic encore in MotoE at Red Bull Ring

Gresini rider's one-two in Austria. Epic battle with Casadei, Garzò completes podium again. Mantovani holds out in the standings

MotoE: Fabulous Ferrari: historic encore in MotoE at Red Bull Ring

Matteo Ferrari has sxcribed an epic page in MotoE: after his domination in Race 1, the #11 of team Gresini gives himself an anthology encore in the second Austrian heat. This time, however, the Rimini rider had to sweat: after a tight duel, he overtook Mattia Casadei (LCR) two corners from the finish, relegating his rival to a still excellent second place after retiring in Race 1.

On the third step was once again Héctor Garzò. The reigning champion of the Intact GP team replicated Ferrari's move with an overtaking move at the expiration of the race on the surprising Tibor Varga. Fourth place for Lorenzo Baldassarri, who climbed onto the virtual world championship podium, while Eric Granado interrupted his comeback with a crash in the podium area.

Title scenarios.

Despite a complicated weekend, Andrea Mantovani retains the lead in the standings. Behind him Alessandro Zaccone (penalized 3" in Race2 for long lap not discounted) and Lorenzo Baldassarri (on the rise after his fourth place finish of the season). Absences shine: Kevin Zannoni and Miquel Pons out of the points.

The electric challenge moves to the unseen Balaton Park in Hungary (round 4 from Sept. 5-7). Between blind corners and unseen elevation changes, the Magyar track could rewrite the hierarchies.
