MotoGP: Alberto Puig still recovering and forced to miss the Austin GP as well

Since 1995, the year he lost control of his bike at Le Mans, Alberto Puig has been dealing with pain and operations on his left leg. The last one before the Thai Grand Prix, which he was forced to miss as well as the next one, in Argentina and the latest one, in the United States.

Alberto was the most promising Spanish rider in the premier class. The accident, which virtually wiped out his calf muscle, caused him constant pain and infection, forcing him to take medication and today he is a shadow of what he used to be: the guy capable of winning at Jerez in 1995 and making five podiums before being forced to retire.

Puig is not only the team manager of Honda's MotoGP squadron, but the Superbike team as well and the various championships that breed talented young riders also depend on him. Remember that thanks to Movistar Alberto Puig has raised a talented nursery from which riders such as Dani Pedrosa, Chaz Davies, and Casey Stoner have all emerged.
