MotoGP, Alex Marquez conquers Jerez warm-up, bad fall for Acosta

Alex was the best in the last free practice session, which was interrupted by a red flag because of Acosta's fall. He fortunately didn't suffer any consequences. Bastianini and Miller reached a second and third time, respectively.

Alex Marquez finished ahead of everyone in the Jerez warm up, setting both Enea Bastianini and Jack Miller straight. Even if it wasn't raining during the session, there were still several wet spots present on the Andalusian track. So, they're hoping that the sun expected throughout the day today can finally dry the track and allow the riders to race in the Grand Prix without the specter of all that happened yesterday during the Sprint Race.

With regard to the warm up, the 4th time belonged to Raul Fernandez on the Trackhouse Aprilia, ahead of Martìn and Bagnaia. Franco Morbidelli - who took advantage of all of yesterday's falls and relegations and reached an unhoped-for 4th place in the Sprint - was 7th, while Fabio Quartararo came in behind him. He was one of the relegated riders yesterday who saw a maybe fortunate but well-deserved podium slip from his hands.

This morning's session was interrupted by a red flag caused by two falls: Pedro Acosta's and Fabio Di Giannantonio's. The Spanish GasGas rider's was undoubtedly the most impressive. It happened at Turn 7, when Pedro lost the front of his RC16 at a very high speed, then flew into the airfences. Fortunately, the bike, which was caramboling right in front of him, wasn't damaged. The incident only resulted in a nasty scare and no physical problems for Acosta.
