MotoGP, Fast by Prosecco Silverstone, Pernat: "Aprilia flies with Aleix, the Italians are dominating"

MotoGP finally returned to the track at Silverstone and victory was achieved in the Grand Prix by an Aleix Espargarò in a state of grace astride a perfect Aprilia. There were three Italian bikes in the top five, with Oliveira and Vinales at the foot of a podium completed by Bagnaia and Binder. By now the Japanese are in a real abyss, no Honda or Yamaha rider ever appeared the least bit competitive to think of getting on the podium.

Here are Carlo Pernat’s comment on the race in front of a bottle of excellent Prosecco DOC.

"I'd say it was a triumphant day for Aprilia today and they deserved it. On a favourable track for them, because they could have won here already in 2022. They put three bikes in the top five, a good result, I'd say a Ducati-style result if we want to make a comparison. Aleix Espargarò was very intelligent, you could see that he had more than Pecco and passed him in the end.

But I was very surprised by Oliveira, who had a great race and I think he's a rider to keep a close hold on, he's very strong. An all-Italian triumph, Ducati put Bagnaia in second place. Pecco is proving to be the only consistent rider, who always finishes up front and he is undoubtedly the one to beat for the world championship. Not because he has the #1 plate, but because today he is the strongest. An excess of confidence for Bezzecchi, he went incredibly long. He makes too many mistakes, he's a rider who gives gas as we say, but then you must score points. Today his zero weighs a lot.

On the podium there were then three bikes from three different manufacturers, Aprilia, Ducati and KTM. Binder is always there, attached to the podium. We'll hear a lot about him, he's a sporty ‘mutt’, as they say, one of those who leave their mark with the right bike. They are the three strongest bikes, without a doubt. Miller still hasn't adapted 100%.

The disaster continues for Yamaha, Quartararo had us used to being a phenomenon but today he snapped, and he can't get the slightest result, while today he can't even get into the top ten. Marquez... by now he has chosen to develop the bike and that's it, the other Honda riders are desparacidos".
