MotoGP, Zarco: successful scaphoid surgery. The FIM Commissioners await him

The French rider has been called up, together with Morbidelli, to the Red Bull Ring tomorrow for clarification on the accident that occurred in the Austrian GP

The surgery that Johann Zarco had to undergo on the scaphoid of his right hand after the crash that saw him involved last Sunday with Franco Morbidelli, was successful.

The compound fracture was reduced at the Modena Polyclinic.

"This afternoon, Johan Zarco underwent a reduction and synthesis surgery of the slight compound scaphoid fracture at the Modena Polyclinic by the team of the Orthopaedic Clinic of Modena at the University Hospital of Modena," it was communicated in a note.  "The operation, which involved the insertion of a screw using a minimally invasive technique, under radiographic guidance, went well and the rider will carry out rehabilitation in agreement with his medical staff ".

The surgery lasted about 1 hour and was performed by prof. Fabio Catani, director of Orthopaedics and Traumatology of the Polyclinic, by prof. Luigi Tarallo and Dr. Andrea Marcovigi.

Now Johann will return to Austria where, as we anticipated yesterday, he will be heard, together with Morbidelli, by the FIM MotoGP Stewards, Freddie Spencer, Bill Cumbow and Ralph Bohnhorst.

The Commissioners have also summoned Miguel Oliveira.
