Fermin Aldeguer won't be a the tests in Thailand, and he won't even be present for the opening round of the championship. The official statement from the Gresini team arrived today: "Fermin Aldeguer's recovery is progressing at a rapid pace but not enough for him to be in Thailand. The Spanish rider won't be participating in the Buriram tests. He'll also be skipping the first race of the season," the statement reads.
The Spanish rider was involved in an accident on January 8th while training at the Aspar Circuit. He fractured his femur and underwent surgery. A few days ago, during the team presentation in Kuala Lumpur, Fermin - who was connected from home - hoped he'd be able to ride in Brazil or Austin.
He won't be in Thailand, and his place on the blue Desmosedici will be taken by Michele Pirro, Ducati's test rider.
