The BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP team officially unveiled its new project for the 2026 season in an unprecedented and international setting. For the first time, the team presentation took place in Kuala Lumpur, hosted by title sponsor BK8 News. This marks a significant step in the team's growth and global expansion.
Alex Márquez took center stage, attending the event alongside the team's management and partners, while Fermín Aldeguer participated remotely from home due to an injury. His absence was only physical, however, and didn't limit the young Spanish rider's involvement in the sports project for which he'll be riding his Desmosedici as soon as possible.
The new livery represents a consistent evolution of Gresini Racing's identity: a clean and modern design, with clean surfaces and enhanced volumes, featuring the team's iconic blue in a rich, textured shade. It's a bold stylistic choice that abandons chrome finishes so as to express an even more racing-oriented character.
The presentation was also an opportunity to remember Fausto Gresini and retrace the moments that have shaped the history of the Faenza-based team, which will be entering its 30th MotoGP season this year.
"I'm very happy with the new bike and very excited to start a new season with this team. This year's presentation in Kuala Lumpur was very special. It's a different and very important market. We hope it's going to be a successful season and, for our part, we'll put in all the effort and work required to achieve our goals. We're absolutely ready to put ourselves to the test," the vice-world champion, Marquez, said.
"It's obviously a great disappointment not to be in Kuala Lumpur for the team presentation. We had a small setback, and we're working tirelessly to get back as soon as possible. I miss the team and I miss the bike but, unfortunately, we have to do things properly and recover. That's the only goal at the moment. Ro get back to being one hundred percent fit, then we'll think about getting back on the bike. One step at a time. The bike is even better than last year's, and I'm really looking forward to getting back," Aldeguer commented, as he recovers from his injury.
"We leave behind a 2025 season full of confirmation and look forward to 2026 with enthusiasm and great determination. Expectations remain high. We have a solid team with a lot of experience behind it and two riders with a huge talent ready to continue the path of growth we've embarked on in recent years. Fermín joined the project with ease and personality, immediately demonstrating that he has the right values and approach and, even though he's currently 'in the pits', he'll soon be back with us, while Alex has all the credentials to be a permanent protagonist and fight for the positions that matter every race weekend. We strongly believe in this duo and in the work we're doing together. We're really proud of the new project. A bike with a strong, essential character that perfectly reflects our identity and our desire to continue to surprise," Team Owner Nadia Padovani said encouragingly.
"Bringing the team launch to Kuala Lumpur is not simply a change of location. It reflects the way BK8 News approaches this partnership. We aren't just involved as title sponsor. We're here to actively support the global growth of Gresini Racing and its connection with new audiences. BK8 News is built on credibility. Our role is to strengthen the visibility of Gresini Racing's values, tradition, and identity, while offering fans clear access to the people, decisions, and work behind the results. With the start of the 2026 season, this project represents a shared commitment to long-term progress, on and off the track, with the ambition to continue building together at the highest level," Michael Gatt, head of the main sponsor, concluded.
