MotoGP: Pirro on track at Jerez: Ducati already thinking about 2027

After officially standing in for the injured Marc Marquez in Australia, Michele Pirro is back on the bike. Fresh from a 17th position clawed out back in the recent Malaysian GP, the Ducati test rider then flew to Spain's Jerez de La Frontera circuit to get to work for the future.

Although the focus remains on 2026, when it comes to aerodynamics the projection is already to 2027 when new technical regulations will come into effect that will substantially change MotoGP bikes.

So, development is continuing on two fronts in Borgo Panigale. In fact, as can be guessed from the post published by the 39-year-old himself on his Instagram profile, the Desmosedici's fairing in action on the Spanish track is identical to the one that the Apulian rider had already tested last September in Misano and that should be mounted on the GP27.
