At the end of the Sepang Sprint race, Fermin Aldeguer was investigated for irregular tire pressure, and the Stewards imposed an 8-second penalty on his race time because the parameters were below the minimum allowed.
The Gresini team rider lost the third step of the podium (which passed to Pedro Acosta) and was relegated to 7th position. But this result still allows him to win the Rookie of the Year title.
