Augusto Fernández will also be on the Sepang track for the third-to-last round of the 2025 MotoGP season. The Spanish rider will be lined up as a wild card with Yamaha, and his goal is to continue to collect data for the new V4. Now in his third championship appearance of the season after Aragon, Brno, and San Marino, he'll also try to bring home a good result or at least replicate the Top 10 he achieved in 2024.
"I'm happy to be racing again," the 28-year-old rider said. "A lot of time has passed after Misano, so I''m very excited about next weekend. We'll try to improve the package of our prototype. It's back to the track and racing. I've missed riding the V4, so I'm looking forward to getting started and seeing what's possible. It's going to be another weekend of development, so we can be ready for the next championship."
The Spanish rider, and member of the Yamaha test team, will be joining the two factory riders, Fabio Quartararo and Alex Rins.
