Jorge Lorenzo is in trouble because of a wheel, and it's not a motorcycle wheel. It's the ferris wheel he had bought in Vieste, which is now at the center of what he calls a scam. "I created a company and bought the ferris wheel. It cost me 1.4 million euros. Then I leased it for four years," he explained to Channel 5's "Dentro la notizia" TV show.
That's when the problems began.
"Unfortunately, I trusted the wrong person because I thought of them as a friend," the champion continued. "They were supposed to pay me rent monthly, but then began paying me late each time. I received the last euro in September, a year ago, and the debt now amounts to more than 200,000 euros."
So Jorge decided to run for cover and take the matter to court.
"In September 2024, I sued them both in criminal and civil court. Their intention is to not pay me, and the judicial process is getting longer. The value of the wheel is decreasing every month and getting old."
Lorenzo's hands are tied, which is why he went on TV: "They use my image, they say I'm the testimonial. It's Jorge Lorenzo's wheel, but don't go on it."
