Aleix Espargaro is already in rehab only 10 days after fracturing two vertebrae in a bicycle accident.
The HRC test rider, who was scheduled to make his debut with the LCR Honda team at the Hungarian GP as a replacement for the injured Somkiat Chantra, has been declared unfit after examinations.
In an update on social media, Espargaro wrote, "10 days after the fracture.... Starting to move again. Low carb diet, coffee x2, smart workouts and hours on the rehab machines. Step by step, stronger every day!"
It remains uncertain whether Chantra, also injured, will be able to return in the upcoming Catalan GP. If not, the LCR team will again have the problem of finding a replacement.
Espargaro, should he be ready, moreover boasts an excellent history at the Montmeló circuit, where he scored a double win with Aprilia in 2023.
