After winning Race 1, Alessandro Delbianco did a repeat in Race 2 and finished as best as he could at the Bardahl Racing Night in Misano.
"I particularly wanted to get a good result," he said at the end of the first round. "Yesterday, I had a problem at the end of qualifying, so I went into the race a bit blind without doing the warm up. But the team was fantastic and allowed me to push almost to the maximum. It's proof that you win in a group because it would've been impossible alone. Pirro's withdrawl? I didn't know anything, also because I'm always surrounded by Ducatis and, in this case, it was Baldassarri's."
"The SBKs have less control than a production bike, so when a champion like Lorenzo comes from production, he's immediately competitive. It's an extra risk, but it's nice to win when the level rises," he added, regarding his fellow winner's performance in the category.
When the native from Rimini was interviewed right after the win, he ecstatically said: "Two wins in one day is the first time it's happened, and I'm going to enjoy it. This afternoon, I was also better off physically, since I had struggled a bit with the bike in the morning."
"Between the two races, the team tweaked a couple of things that allowed us to make a change. I felt great on the bike. I was afraid, given the difficulties this morning and, at the beginning, I tried to do some laps a bit soft, but then I took the margin. I'm happy, because I'm experiencing an extraordinary moment. I feel like one wih the bike. I hope to continue like this. I'd like to say goodbye to my crew chief, Damiano, who isn't here but in Balaton where Gardner, his rider, got hurt, and I wish him a speedy recovery," he continued, before paying tribute to his team and speaking of something that bothered him.
"We did an outstanding job as a team. There's always a tendency in this sport to discredit, but credit must be given. We're racing with the 2024 bike. Engineers and mechanics, the rider, and even the jersey haven't changed. I've been close to Pirro for years, and progress has always been made, even when I train at the kart track. Together with the team, we've improved without taking advantage of concessions that Yamaha only had before I arrived, which was four years ago. Our desire is to establish ourselves as Pirro and Barni have done until now."
After proving his ability to win, the rider from Romaga promised that he'll continue with his strong-willed attitude. "I'll continue to behave like this because I aim to win the title and be as fast as possible," he said, then emphasizing his own strengths.
"Every rider has his own gift. I've always struggled at the end of the race but, in the strait, I do better than the others. One shortcoming was the fast sectors, like at Mugello and Vallelunga. I worked on it and made progress that now adds up to what I have always stood out for," his reasoning.
Finally, when asked if he had asked to be informed on Michele's fall in the afternoon race, given the lack of reporting in the morning, the DMR rider replied: "No, but we understood each other immediately."
