Iker Lecuona is undergoing a sort of comeback with Ducati. After the difficulties he faced in recent years with Honda, the Spaniard has found his form again with Ducati, to the point where he is now Nicolò Bulega’s direct rival in the title race.
For him, the first half of the championship has been marked by consistency, considering that from Portimao to the present, he has finished second in every race.
His performances in 2026 have therefore convinced both parties to renew their commitment to each other for the future. For this very reason, Iker’s team and Aruba are finalizing the last details of his contract renewal.
Given his performance on the track, Lecuona will receive a significant pay rise compared to his previous agreement, which is set to expire at the end of 2028.
Lecuona’s career is thus set to be coloured red for the next two years. While the contract hasn’t been signed yet, it’s possible that it could be finalized in the coming days, during the week leading up to the Superbike race at Donington.
Aruba will then decide when to officially announce the agreement.
