MotoGP, Barcelona test: a fighter plane front fairing on Pedro Acosta's KTM

MotoGP: Barcelona test: a fighter plane front fairing on Pedro Acosta's KTM

There is still room for fantasy in MotoGP, at least when it comes to aerodynamics. This time it was the KTM engineers who have indulged their imagination, debuting an entirely brand-new solution in the Barcelona tests. Taking it to the track was Acosta, who rode a few laps with a very oddly shaped windshield. The lower part is the usual one with large wings, but it is the upper part that catches the eye.

The fairing narrows a lot and the plexiglass practically becomes a fingernail, somewhat reminiscent of the shape of a fighter plane. As mentioned, this solution was tried by Pedro for a few laps, then he came back to the pits and his mechanics remounted the standard fairing on the RC16.
