Boscoscuro: "We are like David against Goliath. In life I never gave up."

"This year we knew early on that we could do it. Great satisfaction to have won the title with only four riders entered and happy for Ogura coming back from a complex 2023."

Moto2: Boscoscuro: "We are like David against Goliath. In life I never gave up."

While the fight for the MotoGP title is still wide open, Thailand closed the games in Moto2 with the success of Ai Ogura on the MT Helmets-Msi team's Boscoscoscuro, a trophy that came at the end of a race ending in a second place that sent Luca Boscoscoscuro into a frenzy.

"I'm overjoyed even though I haven't yet metabolized what happened, I'll probably be even happier tonight, it's a dream. I started as a rider, but to have started a team and even more to have built a winning bike capable of winning a world championship gives me even greater satisfaction. I'm just sorry because I was hoping to fight until the end with our other guys, plus now Aldeguer hurt his hand, so in Malaysia he won't be there for sure and in Valencia I don't know. However, I am also happy for everyone who works with me and for my wife who puts up with me and supports me in everything," were his emotional words exclusively for GPOne.

Getting to the front when the competition is fierce and numerically superior has certainly not been a walk in the park. "It's a bit like David versus Goliath because we have four bikes and Kalex 24. To win the title having just four riders means we have done a really good job. Even if things are not going right at the moment our riders are in the top five and that's a fact," he acknowledged.

When asked if he has ever been called crazy, he instead replied, "Everyone told me that, but that was also the case when I was a rider. They asked me who made me take the risk, but these are things you feel inside. I like challenges and the harder they are, the more I love them. I started racing when there were no Veneto riders, and there it is better to go to work than to race. Eventually I made it to the World Championship, won a European title and as a privateer a World Championship, so of everything I did, however, this is the most complex challenge."

The 2024 got off to a great start right away. "We went really well from the beginning, so we knew early on that we could do it and we did. I'm also really happy for Ogura because he came from a difficult championship and instead won races this year. Yesterday he predicted that he was going to win today. He cared about getting to the front in the GPs and even today he tried. I admit I was trembling in the box, but you have to be honest, he had a great season, starting not at the top, but growing."

When there are dark moments the thought of giving up can come up. "Personally, it never occurred to me, not even when we had the wrong formation and encountered critical issues. In the end taking stock of the situation it turned out that many of them experienced their best season with us or went straight to the podium. This is something that makes me proud and in the difficulties gave me the drive to go. By nature I never want to give up," he concluded.
