With the technical revolution set to shake up MotoGP in 2027, the transfer market activity and rumours surrounding it show no signs of abating. The latest case involves Daniel Holgado.
Currently racing in Moto2 for CFMoto Aspar, next year the Spaniard could make the big leap to the premier class with Gresini Racing.
The rumour, reported by AS, would reinforce the one circulating a few days ago regarding Fermin Aldeguer’s move to VR46, where he currently rides for the team led by the unforgettable champion and manager from Imola, although Aldeguer himself has remained tight-lipped so far. “I have a contract with Ducati. It’s up to them to decide where I race. What matters to me is having the factory bike and full support,” he replied to those who had pressed him on the subject in Brazil.
The same fate awaits the other Gresini rider, Alex Marquez, who is also rumored to be leaving—in this case, heading to the official KTM team to earn more than double what he currently makes, given that his salary would jump from around 400,000 euros to 1 million.
The possible arrival of Holgado and the rumoured return of Enea Bastianini—currently with the KTM Tech3 team, where he is struggling and seeing few results— would guarantee that the Borgo Panigale-based manufacturer once again has six bikes at its disposal.
Among the expected moves is also the departure from Aspar of Dani’s teammate David Alonso, who is now all but certain to join Honda in MotoGP alongside Fabio Quartararo. He is expected to be replaced by Moto3 star Maximo Quiles.
