Enea Bastianini cobbled it up it as usual, finishing fifth at the Aragon GP. Alex Marquez and Bagnaia's fall allowed him to gain ground by finishing behind Binder's KTM.
"The track conditions were really critical," he began. "I tried to do some overtakes at the start, but it was practically impossible, because you ended up going on the dirt and risked falling. Halfway through the race, I tried to change my approach, using a different method. What can I say. More than frustrated, I'm not happy, since Friday's mistakes took a toll, and I paid dearly for them. Definitely, better fifth than nothing. But I'm now looking forward to Misano to make up for it."
How complicated was it to recuperate?
"I knew it would be more difficult than expected, starting so far behind. The fact is that, starting behind bothers me, because the comebacks I make now don't matter to me at this stage of the Championship. I'd say that a situation like that shouldn't happen anymore."
What do you think about the incident between Pecco and Alex?
"I honestly don't know. I saw Pecco in front. I don't know if Alex saw hom too. Maybe he did. I don't know which of the two is right."
Do you think this race could affect the continuation of the season?
"I say quite a lot, because Martin is taking off and gaining more and more confidence. Marc has also gained confidence, while Pecco lost points. I'm consistent, but there are those who are doing better than me. The fact is that, at this stage, I have to be constantly up in front."
What's going to happen in Misano?
"I expect a tough race in Misano, like here, with the Ducatis in front."
