MotoGP: KTM shark tooth at Red Bull Ring: even the swingarm becomes a winglet

New features were expected for the home Grand Prix from KTM, and the Austrian manufacturer did not disappoint. During FP1 Pol Espargarò - a wild card at the Red Bull Ring - came out on track with some new parts that could not go unnoticed. What caught the eye was the rear end of his RC16, which seemed almost to have been transformed into a Japanese manga bike.

In fact, an unprecedented appendage was applied to the swingarm, extending upward to go to cover the rear wheel. The shape is very unusual, with teeth in the lower part. That's not all, because a small spoiler on each side sprouts at the highest part.

The Austrian technicians have not just been focussing on aerodynamics however, because the Spanish test rider's KTM can also count on some updates to the engine and a new exhaust, which is clearly visible from the photo.

Recall that in recent weeks Pol prepared for the Austrian GP with 4 days of testing at the Red Bull Ring, completing about 350 laps.
