While MotoGP is on vacation, the teams that still have one or more seats to be assigned for 2025 have already begun to look around. Among them is Trackhouse, whose management is facing a crossroads: choose continuity or revolutionize the lineup. From what we have learnt for Fernandez, renewal is close, while courting current KTM rider Jack Miller is reported to already be underway.
"Our priority is to keep both of our riders and actually we are quite close to signing with Raul," team manager Davide Brivio confided to TNT Sports, "He is happy to stay and we are happy with him. We think he has great potential and so far the collaboration has worked well. As for Oliveira we are talking, however having received offers, as a team we will have to find a meeting point that will lead him to stay."
The U.S. ownership of the team may be pushing for a star-spangled name, and Joe Roberts, now third overall in Moto 2, could prove to be a card to bet on.
"He could be our plan B or C should we not make a deal with Miguel. At the end of the day the market is clear, there is only one experienced rider free, while the others are all almost rookies," he continued in his reasoning. The veteran in question would be Jack himself, still bitter about being sidelined by the Austrians.
"We talked with him as well . That's how it works in the end, there's nothing to hide. You call, you hear who is available, and you negotiate. Right now the calls are diminishing," admitted the 59-year-old before dwelling on his own ambitions, which is to replicate what he did in 2020 with Suzuki, when he managed to lead the Japanese manufacturer to the title with Joan Mir.
"I've only just arrived, but I'm trying to create something, a group, a sense of unity and a good internal atmosphere, especially among the riders. It's complicated, however, the desire is to instill the culture of not giving up and continuing to push," he outlined his plan.
