It was Pol Espargarò himself who declared that his goal was to return to his GasGas before the summer break. However, he won’t be at the Sachsenring, because his doctors haven’t yet given him the okay. He’ll also have to wait a few more days to find out if he’ll be racing in Assen.
So, once again, Pol will be replaced by Jonas Folger, who’ll be at his home race. Jonas came in 2nd on the German track in 2017 behind Marquez. He wore the Tech3 team colors that time too, even if it was on a Yamaha.
“I’m really happy to participate in the German GP,” Jonas commented. “It’s a very special place for me, and I have fond memories of the Sachsenring with Tech3, because we achieved the best result of my career together. I think I’m going to be nervous, but also fully motivated for this weekend.”
