Among false starts, accidents and penalties, the Stewards are the ones who end up in the dock at the start of the MotoGP season. Four appointments during which the panel, headed by Freddie Spencer, raised more than one question, marked by huge oversights and decisions bordering on the incomprehensible. An aftermath of controversies that risks nipping in the bud any ambition that riders – who are clamoring for uniformity in the measures used to impose sanctions – might have when deciding to overtake.
So, how can some order in this undisciplined MotoGP be restored? With a “Permission-to-Overtake” form, of course, which must be duly completed and submitted before the start of each race. This will definitely leave no room for unauthorized maneuvers … on either end.
