MotoGP: Barcelona: Already a World challenge with half a paddock on the track!

The World Championship will start at the end of March in Qatar, but the riders have no intention of keeping still. In two weeks, the first tests of the new year will begin. In view of the Losail appointment, several role players of the premier class have seen it fit to warm up their engines, so much so that they all met up on the Barcelona track.

On a sun-kissed day, Jack Miller and Johann Zarco were in action with the Ducati V4S, while Aleix Espargarò was riding the Aprilia RSV4, Fabio Quartararo the Yamaha R1, Pol Espargarò and Takaaki Nakagami were on the Honda and, let’s not forget Alex Marquez. In Pol’s garage, among other things, there are two Hondas: the road RC213V and the CBR 1000 RR-R.

Given the regulation that doesn’t allow the use of MotoGP bikes outside of test days, the riders have no other choice.

As we can see, the list is long and includes world champion Joan Mir, as well as his teammate, Alex Rins. Then there’s Moto3 world champion Albert Arenas followed by Tito Rabat with the Panigale V4S and Ana Carrasco with the Kawasaki. It’s definitely a full list, even if it’s not a classic race weekend.

The riders in Barcelona also gathered in the pit lane for a moment of silence in memory of Fausto Gresini.
