MotoGP: Iannone: the future? I won't have to speak with Suzuki for long

While Alex Rins' future is already written, Andrea Iannone is still looking for an answer. On the one side is Suzuki, on the other the various rumours circulating the paddock. From Ducati to Aprilia, even as far as an experience with a satellite team. There is no shortage of gossip surrounding The Maniac, fresh from his podium finish at Jerez.

There is a relationship of trust between Suzuki and I, you'll know more in a few days' time” the rider said.

Andrea expands on this.

“We're talking with Suzuki, I don't think we'll need to talk for very long”.

There are those who think he might embark on an adventure with an Italian squad.

I have to say that racing with a factory team is important n MotoGP.  Representing an Italian brand or manufacturer is something extra for a rier, though there are many Italians on the Suzuki team of course. What counts more is the difference between a factory and a private team”.

For now, his mind is focused on the Le Mans weekend.

This year the Suzuki has grown considerably, particularly at the Austin round. I think we have chance to fight with the fastest guys”.

The Italian rider is then asked if it's time to think about a race win.

“It depends on the track, at some we can be close, at others no. If I was in Australia I'd answer in a certain way, as for Le Mans I can't say too much, I can definitely be up close to the fastest riders”.

A final word on Rins' contract renewal.

"He's a young and talented guy, unfortunately last year he had to cope with various injuries. I'm pleased for him and Suzuki”.
