MotoGP returns to one of the most iconic tracks on the calendar, Assen. A circuit that many consider the Cathedral of motorcycling, a true test of talent and technical level of the machine. Marco Bezzecchi needs to rebuild his championship path after the penalty received at Brno, while Mártin hopes to regain feeling with an Aprilia that hasn't given him the same sensations since the victory at Le Mans.
The Brno round helped to tighten the overall standings, with Di Giannantonio closing the gap to -23 on Bezzecchi and Marc Marquez at -40. The Spaniard needs to keep up the pace here, knowing well that the Sachsenring will be his opportunity to attack and perhaps climb to the top of the championship.
This will also be the first official weekend of 'split' racing for Bagnaia and Acosta, who hopes to rely on a reliable KTM.
