The weekend at Assen didn’t get off to the best start for Franco Morbidelli. After narrowly missing out on the Q2 during Friday’s free practice session, the VR46 rider was handed a three-position grid penalty for Sunday’s race at Assen.
Morbidelli had been involved in an incident in which, while riding slowly along the trajectory, he obstructed Bastianini who was approaching from behind on his fast lap, therefore, forcing him to swerve onto the grass at high speed.
