“Angel will be remembered for his energy and personality”, with these words Dorna CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta, visibly moved, paid tribute to the 12+1 time world champion.
“He's been an important presence for Dorna and motorcycling in Spain, he paved the way for all the other riders - he continues - His personality goes beyond sport and it's difficult to believe that he will no longer be a part of this paddock”.
To remember him, a minute's silence will be observed at the Brno MotoGP, on Sunday after warm-up. His family also plan to arrange a public funeral in his honour in early September, while the cremation will take place today.
