WDW 2016: tickets will soon be sold out

Tickets for the 'party on a red planet' are in huge demand!

Moto - News: WDW 2016: tickets will soon be sold out

What's the Ducatisti's favourite event? World Ducati Week of course, better known as WDW! Preparations are well under way for the ninth edition of the international Ducati bike meet, an event that right from the very first edition brought together thousands of ducati fans. Where and when? Well it's taking place from 1 to 3 July 2016 at (where else?) the “Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli” Ducati will be pleased though as, not only are tickets already on sale, but it seems there will soon be a situation of “overbooking”. “Red fever" is resulting in a real race to snatch up passes and tickets. Record numbers are expected, also considering that this 2016 edition is a chance to celebrate Ducati's 90th anniversary.

Let's take a quick look at the various ticket options...
- 3-day pass (1/2/3 July)
: Biker pass € 95 and visitor/passenger pass € 65 (full price); Biker pass € 70 and visitor/passenger pass € 55 (reduced price for tickets purchased at Ducati Dealers); Biker pass € 45 and visitor/passenger pass € 45 for DOC Members (special price for Desmo Owners Club members, tickets can only be purchased via official Ducati clubs)
- 1-day pass: Biker pass € 50 and visitor/passenger pass € 40
New features this year will include the first edition of the Ducati International Bikers Games, a sort of “bike-olympics”. Basically a knock-out style tournament, 8 teams of Ducatisti from all over the world will compete in a range of challenges, from a “slow motion” bike race to a precision braking test, as well as assembly/disassembly contests (assembling/disassembling an engine in the shortest possible time), quizzes and other surprises that await participants. There will also be a range of on-track stunt shows put on by stuntmen including Emilio Zamora, Victor Chelenkov, Jeremy Vonk and Michael Threin.

Then there is the Ducati Garage Contest, a tradition ever since WDW2002, that recognised the most beautiful Ducati specials created by amateur customisers from all around the world. Send one or more images of your customised bike, along with the completed application form, to [email protected] before 29 May 2016 to take part in the contest. An internal Ducati jury will select the ten specials that will be exhibited at Misano during WDW.
