Tyres and aerodynamics are two of the diktats of MotoGP engineers and their evolution often runs parallel. This is the case of Aprilia, which at Misano brought to the track an evolution of a concept already seen in the past.
Romano Albesiano and his men are working on the front mudguard of the RS-GP and have created a structure that incorporates that element into the shells that cover the brake discs.
The desired effect is twofold: on the one hand the bike’s aerodynamics are improved, on the other hand the temperature of the tyre and the braking system increases, thus increasing the efficiency of both in case of cold.
Exactly what was needed today in the first free practice session at Misano in the rain.
