The MotoGP and Superbike are enjoying a relaxing weekend as they wait to return to the track next week before the summer break. But engines will still be revving on the Riviera: starting tomorrow, the WDW—Ducati’s big celebration in its centennial year—will take place.
The highlight is certainly Sunday’s Race of Champions, with all Ducati riders on the Panigale V4-S. Bagnaia won the last two editions and is dreaming of a third, while Bulega is aiming for a major victory after falling out in 2024, when had come into contact with Marquez at the final corner.
The week that's coming to a close has proven to be challenging for Nicolò Bulega, to say the least. On Tuesday and Wednesday, the Aruba rider completed two test days on the Ducati 850, the MotoGP bike of the future.
Joining him on the track were Michele Pirro and Taka Nakagami, riding the current Honda.
Nicolò continued development work on the Ducati with Pirelli tires, but fell on Wednesday. The incident occurred at Carro, where the #11 was involved in a fall that, however, resulted in no serious consequences.
He later got back on the bike to finish the day’s work. Wednesday’s fall was the first for the Ducati 850.
Meanwhile, on the transfer front, talks are continuing between Nicolò’s team and VR46, along with Ducati, to finalize the rider’s move to the MotoGP for 2027. Negotiations are proceeding slowly, with a 1+1 proposal on the table, namely, a one-year contract with an option for a second year.
