BMW is waiting and hoping, but Oliveira faces the risk of a long layoff

Following the accident at Balaton during the Superpole Race, the Portuguese rider could be sidelined until July

The Balaton round took a heavy toll on Miguel Oliveira. Following his crash in the Superpole Race, the BMW rider was diagnosed with fractures to his shoulder blade and ribs, as well as injuries to his shoulder tendons and a concussion.

Miguel will not race at Most this weekend, and there is a real risk that the Portuguese rider may miss other rounds starting with Aragon, scheduled for the end of the month.

According to reports, the BMW rider is expected to be sidelined for about six weeks and will consequently also miss the Misano round, scheduled for mid-June.

Obviously, BMW is hoping for a quick recovery and is keeping its fingers crossed to see him back in July at the Donington round, which is the last one before the summer break.

We will therefore have to wait and see how the situation develops, with van der Mark set to take over for the next two races as well.
