There's a big question mark hovering over Andrea Iannone's future. In fact, right now, there are no confirmations regarding #29's plans for 2026. Consequently, the upcoming weeks will be decisive in understanding any new scenarios.
The fact remains that The Maniac did, however, make a move. According to rumors, the rider's entourage submitted an application to join the 2026 Superbike World Championship. October 13th was the deadline, and Andrea's was one of the applications Dorna received.
But what happens now? Once all the applications have been received, starting November 3rd, the organizer will decide if it's going to accept the application or not. In case of a positive outcome, the team will have to submit a non-refundable, 15-thousand-Euros deposit to Dorna by November 14th.
From there, the contract between the parties will be concluded, therefore, finalizing the registration process for the 2026 Superbike World Championship.
In short, Iannone has taken a first step, but his participation in the Championship still hasn't been decided. We'll just have to see what happens from here on out.
