The season has come to an early end for Sam Lowes. After undergoing a medical check-up following this morning's Superpole, the British rider was declared unfit to participate in the remaining part of this weekend's race in Jerez, the final 2025 round of the World Superbike.
The ELF Marc VDS Racing Team rider was forced to withdraw because the symptoms of his chest contusion - which had already forced him to miss the last round at Estoril - have worsened.
Sam is, therefore, unable to continue the weekend and won't be able to battle it out for a sixth place in the championship with his brother Alex, the very rider who'll inherit that third grid position the Ducatista fought for in qualifying, finishing the Superpole behind poleman Nicolò Bulega and Toprak Razgatlioglu.
