The announcement came directly from Modave Castle near Liège and was welcomed by KM99 as a huge step forward. At the top of the Independent standings in the Endurance World Championship, the Belgian team will join forces with Marc VDS Racing. While the newly formed ELF Marc VDS Racing/KM99 won't undergo significant changes in its technical team for 2025, a young new member will be joiningRandy de Puniet, Jérémy Guarnoni, and Florian Marino at the line-up: Alessandro del Bianco. He made his championship debut in the Superstock category only last year but he's already riding a Yamaha.
The statement by KM99, a team founded by Gaëtan Schyns and Mario Küpper, reads: "The year 2024 ended with a second place in the Bol d'Or after finishing in the EWC fourth overall and first among independents. This noteworthy result prompted us to look for the best strategy for the future. After several talks with Yamaha and the Marc VDS team, we're proud to announce a huge evolution for the team. Our goal is excellence and fighting for the title with the various officials. Joining a group that has won three World Championships in the Moto2 and made its mark in the MotoGP and MotoE is a real incentive for us."
It then continued, specifying the team members: "We're happy to have been able to keep a trio that has proven to be efficient, while the arrival of Alessandro, who knows the R1 perfectly well, will help us erach our ambitions. The new season is about to be full of challenges, and we're ready to raise the bar."
