SBK, Rinaldi starts over with Yamaha but won't race in Cremona!

Unlike what happened to Bassani last year, Michael didn't receive permission from Motocorsa to test the new GMT94's R9 he'll be racing with in the 2025 World Supersport.

SBK: Rinaldi starts over with Yamaha but won't race in Cremona!

Michael Ruben Rinaldi will be seeking redemption in the 2025 Supersport. With his adventure in the Superbike at an end, after a difficult year riding the Motocorsa Ducati V4, the 28-year-old will defend the colors of the GMT94 Yamaha team in the intermediate class of the World Championship. He'll be joining Lucas Mahias riding the French team's R9.

This is the long-awaited new weapon with which Yamaha is aiming to relaunch itself in the championship. Riders from the Ten Kate, Evan Bros, VFT Racing, and GMT94 teams will be testing it at the Cremona circuit for the first time in a two-day test organized today and tomorrow by the manufacturer, all with the exception of Rinaldi.

Unlike last year with Axel Bassani, Lorenzo Mauri, owner of the Motocorsa team, decided not to provide his former rider with the necessary permission to start getting familiar with the Yamaha on the Lombardy track. This is a big disappointment for Rinaldi, who was forced to observe the action on the track from inside the garage.
