Joe Roberts was injured in the FP2 of the Australian Grand Prix at Phillip Island. During a session that became difficult because of adverse weather conditions, Roberts fell at Turn 2. After being taken to the medical center for an assessment, an X-ray confirmed a fracture of his right hand scaphoid. As a result, Roberts won't be able to race for the rest of the weekend and will require surgery, which he'll undergo in Australia on Monday morning. He won't be able to participate in the upcoming races in Thailand and Malaysia.
Team owner Eitan Butbul said: "We're obviously sorry to see Joe out of action due to this injury, especially after the hard work he's carried out during the season. His health and recovery are our priorities, and we're giving him all the support he needs to come back stronger. We have full confidence in Joe and look forward to him returning to the track when he's fully ready."
