SBK, No Vallelunga, Petrucci postpones return until Misano tests

Marco Barnabò: "Danilo is desperate to get back on his bike, but we prefer he doesn't exaggerate and waits for the Superbike tests."

SBK: No Vallelunga, Petrucci postpones return until Misano tests

Danilo Petrucci was supposed to take to the track on Thursday with the Panigale V4-S during the CIV free-practice day. In fact, this was supposed to get Petrux back on the bike after last April's nasty motocross accident.

In the end, however, the Barni team and its rider decided not to accelerate, postponing until the end of the month during the May 30th and 31st Misano Superbike tests. We intercepted Marco Barni, who wanted to explain the situation: "The initial idea was to ride the Ducati V4-S in Vallelunga on Thursday," the team owner told us. "Danilo is desperate to get back on the bike and ride. But we decided we didn't want to push it, taking it one step at a time. Nonetheless, Danilo's path to recovery is continuing as best as possible, and we're confident he'll be in Misano at the end of the month for the Superbike tests."

Remember that Barni won't be in Cremona on Thursday and Friday, because the team will be on the Lombard track for the two-day event scheduled for June 19th and 20th.
