SBK: Bulega under the knife after Barcelona: operated for compartment syndrome

A few days away from the Barcelona round, the second of the Superbike World Championship, Nicolò Bulega underwent surgery for a problem related to the chronic exertional compartment syndrome which he had been suffering from since last winter.

A condition that had exacerbated between the opening round of the championship at Phillip Island and last weekend in Catalunya, when severe pain threatened to limit the performance of the Aruba.it Racing Ducati team's new championship leader.

Bulega was operated today on his right forearm by Professor Alessio Pedrazzini at the Oglio Po Hospital in Parma. The reigning Supersport World Champion will take advantage of the next few weeks to recover as best as he can from surgery so that he can arrive at the TT Circuit in Assen in tip top shape. The TT Circuit will be hosting Round 3 of the Superbike World Championship over the weekend of April 19th-21st.
