Marco Bezzecchi's Catalunya GP was a photocopy of the Red Bull Ring race. Once again, the Mooney VR46 Racing driver was the victim of an incident at the start and was forced to start from scratch after changing bikes.
“Like in Austria, I saw nothing”, was the story of yet another crash at the start. “I was hit by four or five bikes, and I only realized what had happened after looking at the images.”
In addition to the blow, the Romagnolo had to deal with another problem. "Unfortunately, my Ducati didn’t start because it was destroyed, so it wasn't possible to bring it back to the pits and continue with the medium. Instead, I had to use the second one which had the soft on the front, a compound not suitable for this circuit. Between the tyres and the physical pain, it was tough, but that's how it went."
Regarding of the consequences of the crash, the 24-year-old said: "I hurt my left hand, especially my thumb, and my right leg, albeit more lightly. On Monday I will do some checks to understand the extent of the injury. I hope to be OK for Misano".
Disappointed and angry about this new episode, the rider from Rimini criticized the rashness of his colleagues. “We need some common sense. At Zeltweg Martin did the same, here Bastianini I don't know where he wanted to go. He was hard right, with higher speed than the four he had on the left and he thought he would get through. It's nice to get along with everyone, but this is the second time that four or five riders have come at me. I’m a bit pissed. Should the punishments be made more severe?
