SBK: Michael van der Mark and BMW also together in 2023

It's a week full of confirmations for the Superbike market. After Kawasaki and Johnny Rea announced the continuation of their contract until 2024, today BMW will also be continuing its adventure with Michael Van der Mark next season.

This has certainly been a troublesome 2022 for the Dutch rider. He fractured his leg riding a mountain bike during the winter break and then he fractured his femur in the Estoril FP1. Despite all this, BMW wants to continue with Michael, and he’s definitely satisfied. “I’m very happy to be part of the BMW Motorrad Motorsport family and to have extended our collaboration,” Van der Mark said. “Unfortunately, this season didn’t go as I imagined. But I want to get back on my BMW M 1000 RR as soon as possible. I miss everything … the team, the bike, the races. Yet,  all that matters is what the doctors say, and I’m following their recommendations. We'll have to see exactly when I can race again.”

A few weeks ago, Michael tested at the TT: “In Assen, I saw how much potential the bike has this season and, since then, the project has further progressed, so much so that Scott won the podium in Donington. I can't wait to get back into action and do my part. I’m sure we’ll have a successful future together.
