On the eve of the Buriram GP, Andrea Dovizioso is called to taken on a little big feat to prevent Marc Marquez from turning the first world match point into a reality. The race is tomorrow, but the conditions in today's qualifying were not the best. Dovi finished 7th, so he'll be starting from the third row behind Petrucci's and Miller's Ducatis.

"The third row is not the best," Dovizioso said. "But, as usual, I'll have my chance to attack. Actually, you never know what can happen because the pace in the race could be slower than in free practice. I'm relaxed , and I want to get on the podium."

Was there still something missing in qualifying?

"Yes, but you can always improve. I'm one tenth from the best Ducati, and I don't see it as a drama. I lost something, but I could have gotten fifth or fourth. The most important thing, however, is to get a good race pace."

The race pace is precisely one of the fundamental topics. The rider from Forlì's isn't bad, in line with the best. Even if Marquez seems to have something more.

"There are a lot of riders with a good pace, Dovizioso said. "It could be a group race even if Marc is a bit faster, but not like at Aragon, so it won't be impossible to attack him. Vinales is in really good shape, like all the Yamahas. Miller and I are close."

So, are you excluding anyone breaking away at the start of the race?

"No, anything could happen," Dovi continued. "It could be a fast race if Marc, Vinales, or Quartararo try to break away. If, on the other hand, no one does, it could be slower. We'll see. You can really overtake well here."

For the choice of tires, you all seem to be oriented towards the soft. Is that right?

"Yes, it's the best choice for everyone. They don't wear out that much on this track."

But the tires are one of the key points for tomorrow's race. Petrucci said that when you follow a bike, it's really difficult to manage overheating. Is it the same for you too?

"These temperatures are a predicament for the entire package," Dovizioso said. I didn't have many problems during the simulations but, in the long run, during the race, they could come up."
